The Northern Virginia Chapter of Trout Unlimited (NVATU) brings together community members who enjoy sharing in fishing experiences; participating in conservation activities; educating future generations; and engaging partner organizations to ensure the health of our local streams, rivers and watersheds.

Thursday February 6th

*** NVATU Officer and Board Elections ***

The Chapter Meeting will be held at the Vienna Volunteer Fire Department (400 Center Street S, Vienna, VA 22180). This will be an in‑person only meeting and there will not be a ZOOM broadcast. The meeting begins at 7:30 pm.

This month our meeting will open with Chapter Business led by Tony Hill Chapter President. During the Chapter Business portion of the monthly membership meeting on Thursday February 6th, we will take a vote on the floor for chapter officer and board member positions.

Three board members are up for re-election: Kiki Galvin, Gregg Rockett, and Jim Wilson. Kiki has chosen not to be re-elected; both Gregg and Jim are seeking re-election. We also have two new candidates: Frederick Parmenter and John Vanden Berghe.

If you are interested in being more engaged with your chapter, now is a great time to step up. For more information or to add your name to the list of candidates, please contact Tony Hill or Scott Allen.

Following the business portion of the meeting, this month some of our chapter members will share fishing stories..
> Lane Thurgood will talk about his Utah slam

> Jim Wilson will provide a conservation update
> Mike Makufka will discuss the Winchester Chapters' Priority Waters activities

John Hadley will be tying one of his popular flies. We will share the fly name, recipe, how to use it, and other information about the fly before the meeting. Bring your vice, bobbin, black thread, scissors, etc. John will bring a couple of vices/tools for those wanting to try their hand at tying this fly. Materials will be provided to tie a couple flies. He plans to start tying at 6:30 pm.
